1991 Porsche 911 Turbo

Call it a C2 turbo or call it a 965--either way it's a GREAT car, especially in black on black!  This one's clean from top to bottom, and we've done just about everything you can to service the car.

We bought the car with a slight tick, which didn't seem like an issue--we even had a PPI done by a dealership.  We pulled the rocker covers to adjust the valves and found a broken head stud within.  That meant it was time to pull the motor and have a look.  We wiggled the valve stems, finding wear on a couple, so we pulled the heads and sent them out.  Good thing, too:  All six exhaust guides were worn.  The heads went to Gellner Engineering for repair, and came back with all new guides, new seals and looking like new.  While they were out, we hit the rest of the motor with our dry ice blaster to bring back a factory finish.  The head studs were pulled and replaced with Raceware pieces while the cylinders received new base gaskets.  We media blasted and painted the sheet tins and started reassembling.  Of course new gaskets are everywhere, from the front crank seal to the breather housing and from one end of the cams to the other.  We replaced all four belts, every filter, all of the fluids, all six injector stacks, the oil return tubes and fan housing strap (they weren't as gold as they should be,) new spark plugs, a new distributor cap and rotor and more. We also replaced the underhood engine pad and all four hatch struts while we had it apart.  This endevour was as much of a lesson to us as it is to you--just because a car has low miles doesn't guarantee it's problem free!

While the car was in the air, we dry ice blasted the chassis and wheelwells.  We turned and painted the rotors, stripped and painted the calipers, installed new StopTech brake pads, detailed the struts and installed new front strut jounce bumpers and dust boots.  After all that, we cleaned some more.  You could just about eat off of the chassis--it's that clean.

We initially wanted the car because it looked clean, inside and out, and we weren't disappointed.  The paint is crisp (especially after we buffed it with our three-stage process) with no real demerits.  The wheels are original and rash free, and the glass is factory installed.  Other than a new sunroof seal and a new driver door gasket, we didn't have to do much else!

Inside, the original black leather is in excellent condition, the carpets are clean and everything works as it should.  The heat is hot, the A/C is cold, and a modern Alpine head unit supplies the tunes.  964 Turbos are excellent cars on their own. They're more comfortable, better equipped, safer and more complete vehicles than the 930. Antilock brakes, dual airbags, real live climate control, power steering and other amenities propelled the Turbo into the 1990's supercar elite.

We have the original books and tools, as well as a copy of the original window sticker.  This is a clean, and thanks to a grand effort, completely refreshed and ready-to-run 911.  Give us a call or drop by and see it--you won't be disappointed.
