Black on black. 440 Four speed. SE package. No stripes, no vinyl top. Is this the most down-to-business '70 Charger ever built? No high impact colors here, no odd 'one of one' questionable trim choices. This is a serious Charger, and it has Chrysler Classic first place and Mopar Nationals first place paperwork to back up the visuals with substance. It's very hard to get the overall class win with Chrysler Classic--you have to not only have a beautifully restored, correct car, but you have to put in the time and effort to get it to multiple events. Judging sheets are included for 2008--the car took 2009 off and spent time in a private collection. Also in 2008 the car took first in class at the Mopar Nationals, scoring 99.88869%, knocking a half point for some seat back scratches. Here's how the car was built, according to the original broadcast sheet: Y14 sold car E86 440 magnum D21 four speed manual CRXA black leather buckets TX9 Black paint V68 stripe delete A01 light group A04 basic group A47 Charger SE group A33 Track Pack B41 disc brakes B51 power brakes C16 console C55 bucket seats C92 auxiliary floor mats G11 tinted glass (all windows) G33 driver remote mirror J25 three speed wipers J41 pedal dress up J64 wood grain dash panels N41 dual exhaust N42 exhaust tips N51 max cool package N85 tachometer R11 AM radio S77 power steering S81 wood grain steering wheel W23 road wheels with T87 F70x14 Polyglas tires. Start outside with the ultra cool, ultra straight 100% ORIGINAL body panel exterior. You can’t ignore the amazing black paint no matter how hard you try. Every piece of stainless trim is perfectly straight and shiny. The chrome from bumper to bumper is brilliantly refinished. New emblems are perfect. The door gaps are perfect; panel fits are perfect. Everything closes with solidity and sureness. Proper lenses and GE bulbs are in perfect holders and housings. This is a jaw dropping car amongst even our own collection, and that’s saying a lot. This is, after all, a 98+point show car in national competition. Inside, you’ll find largely original components in line with the 55,500 miles shown on the odometer. Those are the original gauges restored by Performance Car Graphics which all function (the clock’s even an original movement and not a quartz conversion) sitting behind gorgeous BE/A wood-grain faceplates and CV Vacuum Platers restored original bezels. The new door panels play host to new armrest bases and door handles, the original dash pad is clean and un-cracked, the console’s nearly perfect with re-chromed top plates and the shifter and wood steering wheel are restored originals. New leather seat covers, a new carpet and a new headliner join mint upper door pads to complete the soft trim. All switchgear and electrical works from the radio to the courtesy lights. You’re greeted with near wall-to-wall woodgrain from the door panels to the shifter to the wheel to the console to the dash, and it balances the black perfectly! A new 440 Magnum callout pie pan on the restored air cleaner conspires dominates your initial view of the engine compartment. A date coded reproduction voltage regulator joins a new reproduction ballast resistor next to the restored, date coded wiper motor and new master cylinder on the firewall. The replacement ’69 E4440HP motor fires immediately and runs smoothly with no issues. From the shade of orange on the motor to the detailing in the compartment this is a world class engine bay! This is a full rotisserie job with gloss black paint everywhere, including the undercarriage. Freshly and concours-correctly rebuilt brakes front and rear bring the car to a halt with new lines and hoses. A new Accurate exhaust system complete with reproduction Hemi mufflers and correct clamps sound great, fit great and look NOS. A new fuel tank and sender and new lines supply fuel forward. The original transmission was rebuilt with a new clutch. Again, research and time spent making sure finishes are exactly as they should be set this monster apart. Proper inspection marks and stamps round out an extremely well detailed chassis. Open up to the trunk to find the spare, proper jack and a new trunk mat. All is fresh, all is show ready. One of the best looking cars ever built, in the most sinister color combination ever? This car WILL knock down a first place trophy anywhere you take it--that’s proven already. Show judging sheets do nothing but protect your investment. A first place car is a first place car. With its broadcast sheet, stunning restoration, those judging sheets and its all-black demeanor this is a Charger for all collections. At the Motor Car Group, we're enthusiasts first. We want you to enjoy your new car from the minute it's delivered and the trailer door drops. Before a car leaves our shop, it's gone through comprehensively, both visually and mechanically. We do more than just kick the tires, though: We fill your tires with nitrogen, road test (if the weather permits us here in Cleveland!) and clean it inside and out. We buff the paint using a three-step process immediately before it's taken away so that it gleams when it arrives. Every car we sell, from Sunday drivers through the rarest exotics, is meant to be driven--get out there! If you have any questions before, during or after the sale, do not hesitate to contact us. It's what we're here for! Call us at (440) 914-0000, write us at sales@motorcargroup.com or stop by and see the new shop at 6441 Davis Industrial Parkway, Solon OH 44139. We're 26 miles from Cleveland Hopkins Airport and we can pick you up when you come to inspect or purchase your car. We welcome any prospective buyers, their buyer's agents or inspectors from Monday through Friday during business hours, as well as evenings and weekends by appointment. We're car people who love what we do, and you'll feel it from the first time you contact us. Give the R&H crew the opportunity to serve you: Our passion and attention to detail set us apart!
